Schoolhouse of Wonder offers seasonal camps during school breaks, early release days (half days) and Track Out Camps for all WCPSS school tracks.
In our Wake Track-Out Camps, we know that some kids play easily with others, some walk intrepidly into adventure, while others may fear the unfamiliar. At Schoolhouse of Wonder, every kid matters. Each person, young or old, is different. We love that. Every Schoolhouse camp provides a unique environment of kindness, respect, and learning. Our award-winning, nature-based outdoor camps have different themes each season, but they are all inspired by our core values. Low camper-to-staff ratios allow campers a sense of freedom while providing a safe and nurturing environment.
Oh, and by day’s end, we’ll return your kids dirty, tired, and happy. Guaranteed.
Spring, Fall and Winter Camps
These seasons are fantastic time of year to be outside! We run camps in Durham, Orange, and Wake counties and try to align as much as possible with various school calendars, but typically run week-long and single-day camps in March and April. Fall Adventure options are 1, 2 or 5 day camps in September and October.
Summer Camps - Registration opens mid January
Summer ushers in whirlwind of running and hiding games, creek explorations, fort building, and all sorts of adventures! We run summer camps in Durham, Orange, and Wake counties and also try align with as many school calendars as we can, typically running from late-May through late-August.
Campers (7-12 years old), Counselors in Training, and staff can also challenge themselves to grow and learn by earning “Growth Rings” in areas like fire making, whittling, plant lore, and snake identification and handling.
Schoolhouse of Wonder offers 13-16 year old meaningful opportunities to discover their own leadership style and practice needed skills in the caring and respectful environment of our award-winning outdoor day camps. Some children come into the world primed to become artists, computer whizzes, or athletes. But these intrinsic qualities are only a small part of the story. Achievement often requires countless hours of practice to build the skills necessary to succeed.
