How can we help children use AI to become more capable, not more dependent? Join Alpha Raleigh and families from across the greater Raleigh community for an evening with Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary, psychologist, researcher, and author of Future Tense, exploring how AI is changing the way children learn, think, and grow.
From homework helpers to AI companions, Dr. Dennis-Tiwary will explore the difference between technology that strengthens children’s curiosity, judgment, focus, and connection and technology that replaces the experiences they need to develop those skills. Parents will learn about “emotional outsourcing” and a practical framework for helping children navigate AI while building resilience and independent thinking.
The evening includes time to connect with other parents, a 45-minute talk by Dr. Dennis-Tiwary, and live parent Q&A. Families interested in learning more about Alpha Raleigh can also visit an optional information station and meet the team.
