October StoryWalks® of Wake County Parks

Read a children’s book while you enjoy a nature walk at several Wake County Park locations. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

From October 3-25, visit American Tobacco Trail and explore "Not a Monster," written by Claudia Guadalupe Martínez and illustrated by Laura González.

From October 1–27, visit the brand new Beech Bluff StoryWalk®, "The Day of the Dead / El Día de Los Muertos" written and illustrated by Bob Barner.

From October 3-31, visit Crowder's new StoryWalk® "Possum's Harvest Moon," written and illustrated by Anne Hunter.

From October 1-31, Oak View's brick walkways will feature the children's book "Griselda Snook's Spectacular Books," written by Barry Timms and illustrated by Laura Borio.

From October 3 –31, visit the new Yates Mill StoryWalk®, "In the Middle of Fall," written by Kevin Henkes and illustrated by Laura Dronzek.

From October 1-31, visit the new Lake Crabtree StoryWalk®, "Pumpkin Jack," written and illustrated by Will Hubbell.

From October 1-31, visit the new Sandy Pines StoryWalk®, "Keepunumuk - Weeâchumun's Thanksgiving Story" written by Danielle Greendeer, Anthony Perry, and Alexis Bunten, and illustrated by Garry Meeches Sr.
