July StoryWalks® of Wake County Parks

Read a children’s book while you enjoy a nature walk at several Wake County Park locations. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

Park Hours: Monday–Sunday, 8AM to Sunset

From July 1–27, visit the brand new Beech Bluff StoryWalk®, "Freedom's Howl: The Song of the Red Wolves" written by Eileen Heyes and illustrated by Anne Marshall Runyon and Steven James Petruccio.

From July 3-31, visit Crowder's new StoryWalk®, "Steve the Dung Beetle: On a Roll," written by Susan R. Stoltz and illustrated by Melissa Bailey.

From July 3-26, visit Harris Lake's new StoryWalk® while you explore the magical world above and below the soil in Kate Messner's "Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt," illustrated by Christopher Silas Neal.

From July 1-31, Oak View's brick walkways will feature the children's book "Kwesi and Nana Ruby Learn to Swim," written by Kobina Commeh and illustrated by Bárbara Quintino.

From July 3 –31, visit the new Yates Mill StoryWalk®, "Daniel Finds a Poem", written and illustrated by Micha Archer.

From July 1-31, visit the new Sandy Pines StoryWalk®, "Riding Magic" written by Kelly Starling Lyons and illustrated by E.B. Lewis.
