Falls Lake State Recreation's First Day Hike

Come join us at Falls Lake to welcome in the New Year with a hike!
Join us at the Shelter 12 parking lot in the Rolling View access for an easy 1 mile educational hike where we will be learning about the American Bald Eagle. We will discuss their habitats, behaviors, biology, their history as an endangered species as well as the conservation efforts taken to help bring their populations back up to healthy levels. We will also discuss the basics of bird watching so you too can potentially see these majestic animals, as well as the many other species of birds that call Falls Lake home.
The hike will begin at 11:00 am. Please arrive on time and dressed for the weather. We look forward to seeing you there.
This will not be a "traditional" hike, but a interactive educational hike with multiple stations.
