Downtown Bird Bash is a family friendly event for everyone. Fly with the Garner Area Historical Society, Downtown Garner Association and the Children's Entrepreneur Market for some birding fun.
The Garner Area Historical Society, the Downtown Garner Association, and the Children’s Entrepreneurial Market present the Downtown Bird Bash.
This family friendly event is sure to be fun for all ages.
Activities include:
A youth birdhouse competition with cash prizes for first through third place winners in each of the four age categories. Awards will be presented at the Garner Recreation Center after judging in the afternoon. See the Entry guidelines and applications at the Garner History Museum.
The Children’s Entrepreneurial Market will have 40 vendors set up inside and outside of the Garner Recreation Center. Browse the talents of youth vendors from North Carolina.
Downtown Businesses will participate in a “Backyard Bird Scavenger Hunt” Pick up your bird clues and search for their hidden “nesting” places in downtown businesses for the bird’s identification. Complete the Bird Scavenger Hunt to receive your prize. Clue sheets will be available at the Garner Recreation Center.
Paint-A-Feeder will take place for children ages 3-7 as part of the Downtown Bird Bash activities. Children will get to paint their own bird feeder in what ever creative manner they choose. Pre-registration on the website required. Entry fees are charged for the birdhouse competition, ages 8-18 at $5 for museum members and $10 for non-members and the Paint-A-Feeder class for ages 3-7 for $5.
