StoryWalks® of Wake County Parks

Read a children’s book while you enjoy a nature walk at several Wake County Park locations. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

From July 1–27, visit the brand new Beech Bluff StoryWalk®, "Dirty Gert," written and illustrated by Tedd Arnold.

From July 2–31, visit Crowder's new StoryWalk®, "Let's Go For a Walk" written by Ranger Hamza and illustrated by Kate Kronreif.

From July 1st-31st, Oak View's brick walkways will feature the children's book "Some Bugs," written by Angela DiTerlizzi and illustrated by Brendan Wenzel.

From July 4–27, visit the brand new Harris Lake StoryWalk®, "Box Turtle at Long Pond," written by William T. George and illustrated by Lindsay Barrett George.

From July 3–31, visit the brand new Yates Mill StoryWalk®, "I Hear You, Forest," written by Kallie George and illustrated by Carmen Mok.

From July 1–30, visit the brand new Turnipseed Nature Preserve StoryWalk®, "How to Find a Bird," written by Jennifer Ward and illustrated by Diana Sudyka.

From June 6 to July 6, discover what you could plant in your own garden at Lake Crabtree County Park with our new StoryWalk® featuring "Miguel’s Community Garden," written by JaNay Brown-Wood and illustrated by Samara Hardy.
