Join us as we celebrate Juneteenth through food! During this program, we will go for an agricultural tour to see and learn about crops from the African diaspora and their role in cultural and culinary traditions both in the past and today. Then we will have a recipe swap between staff and participants to share favorite recipes inspired by African American culture. Participants will get to tell a story about their recipe, decorate and take home a collaborative recipe book, take home some seeds, and enjoy a food sample.
All are welcome, so come on out and celebrate food with us! Children must be registered with and accompanied by an adult.
Participants who wish to contribute to the recipe swap must email their recipe at least three days prior to the program to our email.
