Build a hardwood cutting board with your child this Mother’s Day!
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a creative and rewarding woodworking experience! In this special Mom & Me Class, you and your teen will work side-by-side to build a beautiful, handcrafted cutting board—a functional piece you’ll be proud to use or gift.
This hands-on, beginner-friendly class is designed for ages 14 and up, and includes expert guidance every step of the way.
What You’ll Do Together:
Glue up your cutting board using Rockler’s deluxe panel clamps and glue tools
Flatten the board using a drum sander
Cut a handle on a bandsaw or jigsaw
Sand the edges, corners, and surfaces using a combination of spindle/belt sanders, sanding blocks, contour grips, and random orbit sanders
Apply a food-safe finish, buff it off, and take your board home!
Each cutting board will be made using top-quality hardwoods including cherry, maple, and purpleheart, making every project both stunning and durable.
Finished cutting board dimensions will be approximately 5" x 16" x 3/4"
