Fishing Frenzy at Lake Benson Boathouse

Fishing fun and fish science at the Lake Benson Boathouse! Between 1pm and 4pm, beginners and families with children (ages 8 and up) can sign up for one-hour fishing with an expert. Loanable gear will be provided upon request in the afternoon. Want to enjoy some added competition? The fisher who catches the biggest fish each hour will receive a prize!
Anyone 16 years of age or older must have a valid NC fishing license to participate. Minors without a licensed adult can be covered by licensed staff.
Please note that staff will be taking photos and collecting data of fish caught for the NC Fish Frenzy citizen science project hosted by Science Across NC. Learn how to participate and earn an NC Fish Frenzy patch during the event.
