The Wake County portion of the American Tobacco Trail is proud to be a host site for the annual Statewide Star Party, a signature event that is part of the NC Science Festival and supported with generous funding from North Carolina Space Grant! This year's theme is "Your Place in Space."
Early in the evening, take part in fun, hands-on activities, including solar system walks (two times will be available), crafts, and games. As the sun goes down, enjoy constellation storytelling around the campfire and observe the night sky through telescopes and binoculars as experts from the Raleigh Astronomy Club take you on a celestial tour, including the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter!
This free Star Party event is hosted by Wake County’s American Tobacco Trail staff partnering with the Agape Center for Environmental Education, the Raleigh Astronomy Club, Girl Scout Troop 2584, and Girl Scout Area Wake 23.
All ages and skill levels are welcome! Bring your curiosity, water bottle, chair and/or blanket, and a picnic dinner to enjoy beforehand if you wish!
Registration is not required!
