  • When: Tuesday, June 17, 2025, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Location: Farm History Center, 4028 Carya Dr, Raleigh, NC 27610

Join us for storytime at Oak View! Learn about the significance of Juneteenth and the celebration of freedom from slavery. We'll read the children's book "Juneteenth for Mazie" by Floyd Cooper and visit the 1870s tenant house to learn about what freedom meant to the enslaved community at Oak View. Participants will create a take-home reminder by decorating their own Juneteenth flag.

Free and open to all ages, recommended for ages 4-8. Registration is required for all participants.

The program will take place indoors in historic buildings, one climate controlled and the other not, and includes standing and walking between buildings on paved brick paths.
