2024 marks 70 years since the groundbreaking Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision. To honor this historical event, the Garner Performing Arts Center is proud to present Mike Wiley’s Brown v. Board of Education: Over Fifty Years Later. This one-man show recounts the effects of the decision on the families who participated in the original court case, the impact of the ruling on school systems at the time, and the challenges still being faced today. Acclaimed actor and playwright Mike Wiley brings educational theatre to young audiences and communities across the country. He has been featured on Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, National Geographic Channel, Our State magazine, PBS, and WUNC. 55 min. run time. Post-show discussion with Mike Wiley to follow.
