Kirby Derby, Raleigh's tradition of wacky downhill soapbox racing and community fun, gets rolling Saturday, August 23! This year's theme is DERBY DEEDS: Mixed Metaphors, Cataclysmic Cliche, and Wreckless Wordplay.
Pinecar Races | 3:30 pm
Kids are invited to bring their homemade pinewood kit car to the Derby to see how it stacks up!
Parade | 4:30 pm
Bring it with costumes, with music, with non-motorized moving creations to show off your neighborhood, your community, your family!
Soapbox Derby | 5:30 pm
Challenge the neighbors next door or a rival neighborhood to see who can win as the fast and furious in the ultimate downhill derby!
Just coming to watch? Everyone in the community is encouraged to get into character with costumes!
