The sunflowers are growing and are expected to bloom in mid-July.
Sunflower Field is free to visit 7 days-a-week, from dawn until dusk.
To see the sunflowers up close, walking up and down hills, in grass and on uneven surfaces will be necessary.
The 5-acre sunflower field at Dix Park is a City of Raleigh partnership between Raleigh Water, Raleigh Parks, and the Office of Sustainability. In 2023, 280,000 seeds of the Hunters Select Peredovik variety were planted.
Each Friday and Saturday during peak bloom there will be food trucks available at the Sunflower Field for visitors to pick up a snack or beverage.
Fridays, July 14 & July 21 from 5-9pm
Saturdays, July 15 & July 22 from 11am-3pm & 5-9pm
On Saturday evenings visitors can also enjoy acoustic music by local musicians and beer available from Trophy Brewing.
Saturdays, July 15 & 22 from 5-8pm
Please stay on the paths in the field and keep children and pets from straying into the sunflowers.
Please do not pick the flowers or eat the seeds.
Port-a-johns are located near the Sunflower Field and Magnolia Room. Indoor restrooms are available in the The Chapel during visitor hours.
