Winter Lantern Walk at NC Museum of Art

Bundle up and come together as we honor the quiet beauty of the approaching winter season with a handmade paper lantern walk through the Museum Park. We are hosting a community-driven celebration inspired by the Hillsborough Arts Council’s annual Solstice Lantern Walk. Bring your own homemade lantern (no flames) or come early to purchase one.

Bring your paper lantern for a magical Winter Lantern Walk on:
• December 10 at the North Carolina Museum of Art
• December 21 in Hillsborough at Eno River Farmers Market Pavilion
• Or both!

Event schedule
4:30—6 pm: Lantern-making, vendors, community outreach tables, music, concessions in the Ellipse
6—6:45 pm: Lantern procession along a paved, three-quarter-mile Museum Park trail. Please do not begin walking before 6 pm. We will gather everyone and start at the same time, making sure to space people out so we all can enjoy the views and take our time to have a peaceful walk.
6:30—7:30 pm: Festivities continue in the Ellipse. This is a great time to make a new friend and take photos of the most creative lanterns!
