Join us for an engaging tour around the property as we discuss the history of Oak View from plantation to park. You'll hear about the lives of the people who lived, labored, and built community here and the transitions that took place in their lives before and after the Civil War. Free and open to all ages, but best suited for upper-elementary and older. Registration is required for all participants and walk-up registration is available.
The program will begin in the Farm History Center (our visitors center building). Please check in with park staff upon your arrival. We will run the program rain or shine, so please come prepared with weather appropriate clothing. The tour will take place primarily outdoors, with the option for participants to explore the historic buildings while maintaining social distancing. The tour includes standing and walking between buildings on brick paths. In order for us to prepare for the program, please let us know if you are no longer able to attend.
