Apex Juneteenth Festival at The Depot

Juneteenth is celebrated across the country to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. The Town of Apex's Juneteenth Festival celebrates this important day in history, and promotes equity, respect, and understanding between people of all backgrounds and cultures.

This year’s celebration features:
Live music and entertainment with 97.5 FM DJ Brian Dawson, 97.5 FM Emcee Ron Huff, Caliente Babe, Empowering Steppers, GRAMMY nominated artist - Pierce Freelon, NiiTO, and Dee-1
Chalk the Walk on Seaboard Street (claim your chalk spot here or walk up day-of!)
Food trucks like Quizine Orleans
History exhibit in the Depot
Digital media and art Installation with Middle Creek High School
Juneteenth stories hosted by Eva Perry Library

11am: Event kickoff with emcee Big Ron, flag raising with Apex Police Department Chief Armstrong, Apex First Baptist Youth Choir performance
11:10 am: Opening remarks from Mayor Gilbert, Town Council, and Juneteenth Committee
11:30 am: Caliente Babe line dancing
11:30 am: Juneteenth stories @ the Halle Cultural Arts Center
12:15 pm: Presentation of the Apex Freedom Day Honoree
