Summer classes include (Grade levels are approximate):
Primary Logic Puzzles: [Grades 1-2] Games! Puzzles! Fun! Your kids will be having too much fun to notice that they’re building reasoning skills and developing a lifelong love of mathematical thinking under the guidance of an expert IMACS instructor!
Logic Puzzles: [Grades 3-8] Students explore the mysteries of pure logic through fun and engaging stories. Carefully crafted lessons lead them from basic deductive reasoning to skills that exceed those of most college graduates. Each week includes individual puzzles, team-based logic games, and fresh new challenges—all led by an experienced IMACS instructor.
Computer Programming: [Grade 4-8] Students don’t merely use the computer in this course — they write computer programs! Using LOGO, a programming language developed at MIT, students tackle intriguing challenges that build coding and problem-solving skills. With personalized guidance from IMACS instructors, they gain a head start on future programming courses. See Computer Programming Enrichment for more information.
University-Level Courses: [Grades 9-12] For over 30 years, IMACS has offered self-paced, university-level courses in computer science and advanced mathematical logic. Designed for high school and advanced middle school students, these courses are praised by educators and alumni alike for their rigorous content and long-term impact. Read testimonials from university professors, parents, and students. For more details about these courses, see University Computer Science and University Mathematical Logic. A free aptitude test is required for new students.
