HIPPY enrolls parents with children 2-5 years of age who then participate in 30 weeks of early learning activities. Trained HIPPY Family Support Specialists visit families for one hour a week, primarily in the home or via virtual home visits to role play curriculum lessons and activities as well as connect families to resources that they may need. Parents then work with their children 15-20 minutes a day/5 days a week. In addition to weekly home visits, six monthly parent group meetings work together to balance the learning experience for parent and child and support relationships formed in the program. HIPPY empowers the parent as their child’s first and most important teacher.
