Wake County Junior Park Explorers

Do you like to explore parks and preserves? Do you like winning prizes? Our Junior Park Explorers program is for you!

Participants must be between the ages of 4 and 15.

Get Started
Pick up a Junior Park Explorers scorecard at any Wake County park, or email to register by mail. Once you have a card, you are ready to go!

Take the Challenge
Visit each of a list of Wake County parks (see website) and participate in a staff-led program, camp or special event within the course of one year (self-guided activities are not eligible). Ask the staff member present to stamp your scorecard, and you’ll take home a collectible park pin!

Complete a program OR take a selfie (or have someone snap your photo) with a manmade or natural feature specific to each of the listed locations. Then email it to jrparkexplorers@wake.gov and mark your scorecard to indicate completion. Pins will be awarded at the end of the challenge.

Attend a park program to get a stamp!

The GoApe course at Blue Jay Point County Park and the Boat Rental Facility at Lake Crabtree County Park are now also Junior Park Explorer locations!

Collect Your Prize
When your scorecard is complete, email a picture of it and let us know which park you'd like to visit to collect your prize — a Wake County Parks daypack — and your additional pins.
