The vast and diverse Museum Park is where art and nature play. Discover all the ways you can enrich your outdoor experience here.
The Joseph Bryan Jr. Theatre is a unique performing arts and film venue—a work of art in itself—hosts an outdoor summer series featuring a range of musical performances, family entertainment, blockbuster movies and classic films. Picnics welcome; food and beverages available for purchase.
Adaptive Art Program
Create Your Way offers partnering schools accessible tours, resources, and classroom visits designed for students and teachers in ECS classrooms. The goals of the program are to use museum experiences and adaptive arts strategies to help students expand their frames of reference, build connections with others, and know themselves better. These offerings are by request. For more information please contact Molly Hull. The North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation, Inc., is supported by United Arts Wake County.
See website for business hours. Admission to the People’s Collection and Museum Park are free. Your generosity makes a difference.
Field Trips:
Reimagining the traditional field trip, the NCMA has been developing a “flipped museum” model of learning for students across North Carolina that prefaces the onsite experience with online engagement to activate and deepen the Museum encounter. Classes from different regions of North Carolina are paired online and then meet in person at the NCMA for a field trip that builds on their online experience and helps guide them in thinking about their final project.
At Home:
Get creative with NCMA art and artists at home! Reserve an activity kit with materials for a complete hands-on project that includes written instructions. Kits are designed for all ages. In English and Spanish.
