
Duke Homestead State Historic Site and Tobacco Museum encompasses the historic home, farm, and factory buildings of Washington Duke and his family as they lived on the property from 1852 until 1874.The site interprets the early farming life of the Duke family and the beginnings of their tobacco manufacturing business on the property after the Civil War.
Admission to the grounds and museum is free of charge, donations are welcome.
Guided tours are $2/adult and $1/children (ages 5-12) and seniors (65+), children under 5 are free.
Duke Homestead is closed for all state holidays.
FIELD TRIPS
Visit us for engaging, hands-on field trips. We've got something for all ages!
Teachers can choose 1 of the below fieldtrip themes/focuses for their students. Each program will have 4 activities, which students will rotate between. We require at least 2 weeks advanced notice for scheduling. Programs are 2 hours each, and we require a firm minimum of 15 participating students.
