Kerr Lake State Recreation Area Camping

Located in Vance and Warren counties at North Carolina's north-central border with Virginia, Kerr Lake State Recreation Area is a collective of eight access areas around the shoreline of this 50,000-acre reservoir. Campers can choose from seven campground and hundreds of campsites to enjoy a serene night by the lake. All access areas provide at least one boat ramp, offering access to one of the best fishing lakes in the eastern United States. Amenities like community buildings provide popular venues for local gatherings.

Camping fees per night range from $15 to $145. Camping reservations made online. Entrance fees are charged per vehicle on weekends and holidays in April, May and September, and daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Activities - hiking, paddling, swimming, fishing and picnicking.

Amenities - boat ramps, amphitheater, community buildings, picnic shelters, visitor center, exhibits, beach accesses (lake) and bath houses.

Field Trips - explore science, history and math through stream life.

Pets are allowed at the park and at campsites. They are not permitted on swim beaches or inside buildings.
