Explorer's Inclusive Preschool

Explorer's is a half-day, inclusive preschool classroom housed at Meredith College in partnership with the Meredith Autism Program. The classroom is open to enrollment for neuro-typical children (without a diagnosis) ages 3-5 in the triangle area. Preschool hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM and operates during the academic year (September - May). To maintain a low ratio, there are only five openings per year so as to reserve space for autistic preschoolers enrolled at the Meredith Autism Program to join in the inclusive learning environment.

The goal of the Explorer's classroom is to create a learning environment for all types of learners with varying abilities and differences. Neuro-typical children enrolled serve as peer models for communication and play, while also preparing for Kindergarten and developing empathy and compassion towards others who learn differently from themselves.
