Looking for an exciting, inclusive, and enriching experience for you child during spring break? Welcome to our Friendly Spring Break Camp – a week filled with fun, learning, and connection! Designed for youth with disabilities, our camp provides a supportive environment where campers can explore their potential, make new friends, and enjoy an array of activities tailored to their needs. Activities include sports, creative arts, outdoor adventures, games, field trips, and more!
Early drop off is available starting at 8:30am and all campers must be picked up by 4:30pm. Supervised camper-choice activities will be provided for arrival and dismissal hours. Participants should bring a lunch and two snacks each day.
With a lower camper-to-staff ratio, Friendly Spring Break Camp is designed for participants who can engage appropriately in a small group setting of approximately 6 participants with 2 staff. Participants are expected to follow basic rules of safety and interaction, have total independence with toileting, feeding and personal care needs, and easily understand and follow directions within their small group. Specialized Recreation and Inclusion Services does not provide one-to-one camper-to-staff ratio.
Participants needing more support for behavior, feeding, mobility, participation, or personal care & toileting must provide their own personal assistant. The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department Personal Assistant Policy requires paperwork to be submitted, and signed, from both the service provider and the parent/guardian of the participant for approval. These forms must be submitted no less than 2 weeks prior to the Personal Assistant attending camp. Forms not submitted by the appropriate deadline will not be processed in time and the Personal Assistant may not be authorized to attend camp.
