Cow Camp offers children a one-of-a-kind, hands-on experience in the world of dairy. Campers learn essential cow safety and daily care while working directly with calves, gaining confidence and responsibility every step of the way. Throughout the week, they prepare their calves for a real dairy show experience, where campers proudly demonstrate their new skills in showmanship.
When they’re not in the barn, learning continues in the classroom. Campers explore the full cow-to-cone process — discovering how milk travels from the farm to their favorite frozen treat. Field trips connect classroom lessons to real-world dairy operations, giving campers a behind-the-scenes look at agriculture in action.
Cow Camp also opens the door to the future. Students learn about opportunities in the dairy and agriculture industries and discover the many pathways available through programs at NC State University.
It’s more than a camp — it’s an unforgettable experience that builds knowledge, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for the journey from pasture to cone.
Campers will be admitted into either JR. Cow Camp or Cow Camp based on their age, experience level and interest. (Campers 11 & under should register for our "Calf Camp" or Day Camp programs.)
We’re excited to bring you a fully immersive dairy experience for pre-scheduled dates in 2026. See additional information on the website.
