Little Ones Guided Hike at William B. Umstead State Park

Join us for a family-friendly walk down to the lake! We will hike to Big Lake and see the spillway while looking for birds, trees, flowers, and bugs!
All ages and experience levels are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that the trail is unpaved and the ground is uneven. We recommend leaving the stroller behind for this activity.
Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and bring water. Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended.
No registration is required, just come and enjoy!
Meet in the large parking lot at Crabtree Picnic Area, by the sign for the trail to Big Lake.

Directions: Enter the park at 8801 Glenwood Ave. and drive south on Umstead Parkway. Keep going straight past the Visitor Center and follow signs to the Picnic Area. Park in the large lot at the end of the road.
