"Princess and the Frog” 1920s Charleston - Musical-Themed Dance Workshop"
1PM - 2PM
Let's travel down to New Orleans for some fun 1920s Charleston dancing to the song "When We're Human" from The Princess And The Frog! This class is open to ages 9+ and has some simple solo 1920s Charleston footwork, moves, and rhythms that will make you the bees knees. Learn fun moves like Charleston Kicks, the Helicopter, Knee Switches, and more! Fun fact: did you know that Hip Hop dancing was heavily influenced by the Charleston?
Participants must be 9 years to 18 years old when the program starts.
“Hairspray” Partnered Lindy Charleston - Dance Workshop
2PM - 3PM
You can't stop the beat of this Lindy Charleston class! Ages 13+ can sign up for this fun class where we will be learning the footwork, rhythms, and connection for this popular dance of the 1930s but doing it to a 1960s inspired song from the musical Hairspray. This will be a partnered class but you do not have to sign up with a partner as we will rotate in class and you will have the chance to dance with everyone! The Lindy Charleston is a high energy dance with lots of kicks and jumps. Be sure to bring a water bottle and be ready to move!
Participants must currently be 13 years to 18 years old.
