Anne Gordon Center's Japanese Cultural Outreach

  • When: Monday, September 16, 2024,  1:30 pm -  4:00 pm
  • Location: 1901 Spring Forest Rd., Raleigh, NC, 27615
  • Cost: $5 per person per class

Furoshiki from 1:30PM - 2:30PM: Participants will learn how to wrap an object using a piece of fabric to transport goods. Please bring your own water bottle and a small container/box, no larger than half the size of a shoebox.

Tea Ceremony from 3PM - 4PM: Participants will learn about the Tea ceremony and how to drink matcha. They will make matcha by themselves and drink it in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony style.

We are working with the Japan America Society of North Carolina to provide cultural outreach programs. The Instructor Miku Kubota is from Japan and is eager to share some of her culture with our patrons. We are very excited about this opportunity and hope you will join us.

Registration is required and is limited to 20 participants per session. A materials fee of $5 per person per class is due at registration.
