NC Museum of Natural Sciences is Live Feeding a Snapping Turlte

  • When: Sunday, September 22, 2024, 11:00 am - 11:15 am
  • Location: Nature Exploration Center, 2nd Floor, Bottomland Hardwood Forest, 11 W Jones St, Raleigh, NC 27601

Join us for a live feeding of the common snapping turtle in the Bottomland Hardwood Forest exhibit. The common snapping turtle is the largest of North Carolina’s freshwater turtles, and lives in ponds, streams and rivers. These turtles will eat almost anything — plants, small animals and even dead matter. We feed our turtle a diet of vegetable matter plus occasional whole prey items. Enjoy the live feeding and meet Living Collections staff.

No registration required.
