Wake County's Summer at the Library Begins

  • When: Saturday, June 15, 2024 - All Day Event
  • Location: Wake County library near you
  • Cost: Free

Families won’t have to journey any farther than the local library for an amazing adventure this summer. Wake County Public Libraries’ Summer @ the Library program kicks off Saturday, June 15, and runs through Saturday, Aug. 17.

“We’re excited to provide a fun, educational and accessible way for our community to stay connected and enjoy our libraries’ many resources,” said Wake County Commissioner Tara Waters. “Join us in making this summer unforgettable by participating in the program and exploring all that Wake County Public Libraries has to offer."

Taking part in Summer @ the Library has never been easier. Simply head over to any Wake County Public Libraries location to be entered for a chance to win prize packs and books to keep! Each person can enter once per day.

Participants can also complete an age-based Adventure Log to win some cool vinyl stickers to show their love for libraries on laptops, water bottles or cars!

Kids ages 0-5; grades K-5
Each activity completed on the Activity log equals a mark on the map! Make it to the X to earn a prize sticker.

Teens Grades 6-12
Take on the challenge by filling in the nine stars on the log with acts of kindness and self-care. Once completed, return the log to the library to collect a sticker.

Adults
Read or listen to two books, add those titles to the summer reading log, then stop by the local library to grab a sticker!

While there, pick up a few of our librarians’ recommended reads. We’ve got suggestions lined up for young children, school-aged kids, teens and adults. View the lists online at wake.gov/summer-library to plan picks in advance.
