Get ready to break out into summer fun at our Summer BreakOUT! event where the Park transforms into the ultimate camping extravaganza for kids! Join us for a wild adventure filled with s’mores, storytelling around the “campfire,” outdoor games, food trucks, and so much more. Gather your camping crew and kick off the summer in style at Downtown Cary Park!
Immerse your children in the vibrant world of music with Mr. Blue Shoes, a captivating program created by Michael Dyson, Grammy Award-winning producer, guitarist, and charismatic entertainer. With his trademark backwards baseball cap, iconic blue shoes, and comedic persona, Mr. Blue Shoes breaks the mold of a traditional Bluesman, delivering a one-of-a-kind experience for young audiences.
Don’t forget to stick around for our enchanting Firefly Crown Making program and Evening Firefly Crown Parade! Join us in crafting wire firefly crowns (while supplies last) and then show off your creations in a magical evening parade through the Park.
Schedule:
11 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Outdoor toys and Imagination Blocks in Park St Arena
12 – 5 p.m.: Art Cart in the Nest Pavilion
2 – 2:45 p.m.: Performance by Mr. Blue Shoes on the Great Lawn Pavilion
2 – 6 p.m.: Free Spirited Artistry Face Painter & Fairy Hair Artist on Frantz Square Lawn (line closes at 5 :30 p.m.)
3:15 – 5 p.m.: ‘Story time around the campfire’ with Darren Farrell in Academy Pavilion
6 – 8 p.m.: S’mores Bar on Frantz Square Plaza (while supplies last)
6:30 – 9 p.m.: Firefly Crown Making & Parade.
