Join Morehead on Monday, April 8 as we celebrate the solar eclipse!
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES (Free):

- Hands-on solar and eclipse activities, and more!
INDOOR ACTIVITIES ($10 admission):
- A live stream of the eclipse from totality on our Science Stage
- Meteorites and other indoor activities in our Launch Lab
- Carolina Skies: Solar Eclipse – a 30-minute presentation providing information about the causes of solar eclipses and a special look at a total solar eclipse in the planetarium. Available times:
1:00 – 1:30 p.m.
1:45 – 2:15 p.m.
2:30 – 3:00 p.m.
3:30 – 4:00 p.m.
4:15 – 4:45 p.m.
Eclipse safety is VERY important! You can now purchase eclipse glasses for $2 at our gift shop, Cosmic Goods, or at the front desk. If you’re joining us on Monday, April 8, eclipse glasses will be sold at our gift shop table outside.
Please note: Nationally, this event is referred to as a total solar eclipse, but North Carolina is only expected to see a partial solar eclipse.
The UNC-owned parking lot in front of our building is currently under construction. Visitors must now pay using ParkMobile (Zone Code 4468).
