At just over 7 miles, the Black Creek Greenway is one of Cary’s longest and most popular trails. The paved pathway connects several parks, schools, and shopping and dining areas.
On its southern end, the trail reaches Fred G. Bond Metro Park, where it connects to the White Oak Creek Greenway that will, in turn, one day link to the American Tobacco Trail heading north to Durham. These trails are part of the East Coast Greenway, a vast and developing trail network from Maine to Florida.
The trail’s northern end reaches Lake Crabtree County Park, where recreational opportunities abound, including mountain biking, hiking, volleyball, and picnicking, as well as fishing and boating in the lake. And, just south of the county park, kids will love North Cary Park with its playground, climbing boulders and sports fields.
