Lake Crabtree County Park

Lake Crabtree County Park offers visitors opportunities for outdoor recreation. Located on a 215-acre site adjacent to a 520-acre flood control lake, the park hosts more than 16 miles of trails for its main activity. Other activities include group and individual picnicking, catch-and-release fishing, boating, and nature study.

At Lake Crabtree you can find the remains of a 19th-century tenant farm. You can see the ruins of a tenant house, a stone-lined well and a tobacco ordering pit. The home site can be accessed from our Open Play area by following Connector Trail B.

Sailboats, canoes, kayaks, rowboats, pedal boats, and now stand-up paddleboards are available for rent on the park's waterfront for the duration of the Boat Rental season. All rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis and by the hour. A cash deposit is required as well as a valid photo identification. A customer must be at least 18 years of age to rent a boat. A customer must be at least 16 years of age to take a boat out, but must have a parent or guardian sign the release form.

Next time you bring the kids out to the park to enjoy the playgrounds, trails, or other facilities, be sure to stop by the Manager's Office for a free craft! Look for signs posted at the restrooms and playgrounds indicating that the craft is available that day (generally Mondays through Thursdays from 10 am to noon).
