SUMMARY:Budding Explorers at JC Raulston Arboretum
LOCATION:4415 Beryl Road, Raleigh, NC 27606
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Calling all explorers ages 8-10! Join us for an exciting, hands-on program
where we’ll discover the fascinating world of nocturnal animals!\n\nYouth p
articipants, accompanied by an adult, will investigate how mammals in North
Carolina have adapted to life after dark. Through interactive activities a
nd a garden adventure, we’ll explore the special senses that help nocturnal
creatures thrive at night and search for signs of the animals that may hav
e visited the JCRA while we were asleep.\n\nYou'll also get an introduction
to ecoEXPLORE, an incentive-based community science program developed by T
he North Carolina Arboretum. By making real-world observations and completi
ng fun challenges, youth participants can earn badges and prizes throughout
the year.\n\nThere is no need to have an ecoEXPLORE account prior to this
program in order to participate. Program begins at the Visitor Center. Come
dressed for the weather as this program will be held partly outdoors. In t
he event of inclement weather, activities will be moved inside.\n\nDon’t mi
ss out on this opportunity to equip your budding explorers with the knowled
ge and tools to continue (or begin!) their science journey!
