SUMMARY:Duke Lemur Center Museum of Natural History Open House
LOCATION:1013 Broad Street (NOT the main DLC campus), Durham, NC 27705
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Looking for a fun free activity this Saturday? Check out the DLC Museum of
Natural History's monthly open house!

Take a look at the DLC's
expansive fossil collection and our exhibit showcasing the evolutionary jou
rney of lemurs and humans!

The DLC Museum of Natural History (DL
CMNH) is a research collection used to understand our evolutionary journey
as primates. Primates are the group of mammals that includes lemurs, monkey
s, apes, and humans. For more than forty years, museum scientists have cond
ucted fieldwork around the world, targeting major branches in the primate f
amily tree for deeper exploration. Our collection includes 55 million year-
old, lemur-like primate fossils from Wyoming; 37 to 28 million year-old ant
hropoid fossils from Egypt; 19 to 7 million year-old ape fossils from Egypt
and India; 13 million year-old New World monkeys from Colombia; and 10,000
to 500 year-old lemur fossils from Madagascar.
