SUMMARY:NC Museum of Art Sunflower II
LOCATION:West Building, 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Still. Moving: Sunflower II as interpreted by Dr. Kristi Vincent Johnson

Join us for the kickoff of a new monthly dance and movement series
at the NCMA. Watch as dancers offer a living response to Sunflower II by J
oan Mitchell, bringing choreographed motion to what was made to endure. Thi
s work is interpreted by Dr. Kristi Vincent Johnson, NCMA choreographic fel
low and chair of the North Carolina Central University Dance Program.

About Still. Moving
This performance dance series explores the t
imeless works of the People’s Collection and loaned works through the lens
of movement. Each object becomes a partner in a visual and physical dialogu
e as dancers interpret form, story, and silence with their bodies. Still. M
oving reimagines the gallery as a stage where past and present meet and the
boundaries between objects and experience dissolve. Support for Still. Mov
ing is provided by Dawn F. Lipson.

Performances:
11AM
