  Over Historic Spencer Shops!  The Museum will close at 5:00 p.m. with limi
 ted buildings and exhibits remaining open until the fireworks begin. Museum
  grounds reopen at 5:30 p.m. with free children’s activities starting at 6:
 00 p.m. and wrap up with the fireworks show beginning at 9:15 p.m. In the e
 vent of severe weather, fireworks show timing may be adjusted.\n\nFree Acti
 vities include:\nBalloon Twister Artist and Stilt Walker\nFace Painters\nBu
 bble Show\nDJ Music\nInflatables and Bounce House\nScavenger Hunt\nCorn Hol
 e and other Lawn Games\n\nOn display will be the Ride of Pride trucks from 
 Daimler Trucks North America’s Cleveland, NC plant.\n\nNEW THIS YEAR! Purch
 ase a ticket to ride on the Firecracker Express! Ride in a vintage passenge
 r railcar pulled by one of our diesel locomotives. The ride takes place ent
 irely on the property of the 60-acre North Carolina Transportation Museum a
 nd offers a tour of the historic site by train. You’ll ride along and see t
 he structures that were used to service Southern Railway’s steam locomotive
 s when the Spencer Shops were in operation. Passengers may get off the trai
 n at the Roundhouse for the best fireworks viewing! Train rides last approx
 imately 25 minutes and are fun for all ages. All passengers will receive a 
 patriotic souvenir.\n\nFor a small fee, guests are invited to take a ride o
 n our turntable, the centerpiece of railroad operations at the largest rema
 ining roundhouse in North America.
