DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:One of the oldest 5K’s in the Triangle where every female finisher receives
  a red rose, the North Carolina Roadrunners Club is proud to present the 45
 th Annual Run for the Roses 5K. This fun traditional weekend race offers a 
 fun-filled afternoon for the family including face painting and balloon ani
 mals to raise money to benefit Four Paws NC an organization which trains se
 rvice dogs for veterans and Team Red, White and Blue NC, an organization wi
 th the mission to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them
  to their community through physical and social activity.\n\nChildren's Eve
 nts\nFace painting - Mimi the Clown (12:30-2:30)\n100 meter dash for 6 year
 s old and younger\n400 meter dash (1/4 mile) for 6-10 years old\nRegistrati
 on for the Children’s Races will take place on race day. Parents are welcom
 e and encouraged to run with their children. All children participating in 
 these events will receive a medal for completing their race. These races wi
 ll start at 3:00 pm.\n\nJogging Strollers and Dogs\nThe course has portions
  that are off road and gravel. We are still a jogging stroller friendly rac
 e and participants are welcome to run or walk with jogging strollers but wa
 nted to give you a heads up about the course. We are also a dog friendly ra
 ce but your dog must be on a leash at all times and not interfere with othe
 r runners and please be responsible for picking up your dog's poop.
