 onor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during a free, publ
 ic celebration on Thursday, Jan. 22. Area residents are invited to attend t
 he observance at 6:30 p.m. at Friendship Chapel Baptist Church.\n\nEach yea
 r the Wake Forest MLK Committee plans the activities in our community to co
 mmemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As part of thi
 s celebration, students in the Wake Forest and Rolesville Schools and Wake 
 Forest community are provided an opportunity and encouraged to participate 
 in contests for creative writing, art projects, and creative performance ba
 sed on the current year’s theme. The contest winners in each category will 
 receive a monetary prize for their entry. In addition, high school seniors 
 have the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship (a minimum of three and ma
 ximum of five are offered). Contest Entry Form and Rules are on the website
 .\n\nThe Wake Forest MLK Committee is appealing to the citizens of the Wake
  Forest community for financial support to fund these monetary prizes and s
