As we approach the holidays, the generous spirit of our community shines brightly in support of WakeMed Children’s.  From monetary donations to gifts of toys and books for children hospitalized during the holidays, your contributions ensure patients and families have the resources and services available that promote wellness, comfort and healing.

Each year, the WakeMed Foundation works with WakeMed Children’s leadership to identify opportunities for enhanced services and growth that will directly impact patients and families. By making a financial gift to the WakeMed Foundation, you can rest assured that 100 percent of your donation will go directly to help fund these initiatives.

Gifts of Toys/Books

For a child, being hospitalized can be as emotionally challenging as it is physical at times.  This is especially true during the holidays.  Gatherings with friends and family are put to the side as health concerns take priority.  By donating a new toy or book during one of our designated collection days, you will help brighten the day of a patient at WakeMed Children’s.  Gifts of toys and books are used throughout the year in pediatric clinical areas to provide entertainment, relaxation, and most importantly, provide a brief distraction that allows a child to be a child.

This year, we’ll be accepting toy donations at the following locations and times. To allow our team to focus on caring for our patients, we ask that you or your organization direct your donations to these designated dates and times.
