What is ADHD?

ADHD (Attentional Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a disorder of self-regulation. It refers to an individuals' inability to consistently control aspects of their behavior. It can manifest itself in problems with attention, distractability, forgetfulness, organization, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. This condition shares qualities with other disorders and an assessment by a trained mental healthcare professional is usually called for.
