The Carolina Basketball Museum, located on the ground floor of the Ernie Williamson Athletic Center, celebrates the rich history of the University of North Carolina men's basketball program. 

The address of the museum is 450 Skipper Bowles Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.


HOURS:
Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday: Closed

Exceptions to Regular Hours:
    • Note: The museum will close three (3) hours prior to the start of each home men’s basketball game.    
    
 

ADMISSION:
  • Admission to the Museum is FREE.

LARGE GROUPS:
  • Groups of 20 or more are asked to call 919-962-6000 in advance to schedule the visit.
  • Upon arrival, the group leader should check-in at the front desk.

PARKING:  
  • Metered parking (identified as "3-hour parking") is available in the Williamson Lot across the street from the Ernie Williamson Athletic Center. Pay at the nearby pay station.
  • Hourly parking is also available at the Rams Head Parking Deck.

KNOW BEFORE YOU VISIT:  
The following guidelines for visiting the museum are in place to provide a safe and enjoyable visit:
  • The museum is housed in an office building so guests are asked to keep their voices low, especially in the lobby of the building. 
  • No food or drink is allowed in the museum.
  • All age groups are welcome. Adults are responsible for making sure children are not left unattended or allowed to display any unruly behavior.  
  • The museum is wheelchair accessible.  (Note:  A ramp from the sidewalk is located in front of the Woody Durham Media & Communications Center.)
  • Strollers are allowed in the museum.
  • Service animals are welcome in the museum. Pets are not permitted.
  • Photography and Video:
    • Photographs and video are allowed.  
    • Commercial photography must be arranged in advance by contacting Robbi PIckeral Evans at robbi.pickeral@unc.edu.
    • News crews that want to report on or take photographs or video of the museum should contact Steve Kirschner at stevekirschner@unc.edu.


ABOUT THE MUSEUM:
The Carolina Basketball Museum opened in 2008 and underwent an extensive refurbishment in 2017 to its current state. Visitors to the museum will enjoy a seven-minute video detailing the history and tradition of Carolina Basketball, interactive displays commemorating significant accomplishments, and a number of display cases filled with artifacts that tell the story of this great program.
